United in Christ

Good friends are such a blessing! As is the quality time spent with them. What was even more of a blessing is to be able to sit down with a friend one afternoon and just read and discuss the word of God! Motivating each other, thats exactly what Rebs and I did today, digging into the letter to the Ephesians.

As we read through chapters 1 and 2 the theme from my previsous post was reinforced - the power and authority of our King, Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 1 we see that Jesus was seated "at [God's] right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way."
Yes, we are to live with this knowledge in our minds and our hearts - Jesus is king over ALL.

A lot can be learnt from these two chapters. I wont go into it all right now, but I will leave you with the end of chapter two - a beautiful image!

"Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit." 2:19-22

Does this not further inspire a life of praise?!
