Be Still and Know
Be still and know that He is GodBe still and know that He is holy
Be still oh restless soul of mine
Bow before the prince of Peace
Let the noise and clamor cease
Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is faithful
Consider all that He has done
Stand in awe and be amazed
And know that He will never change
Be still
These are the lyrics to a Steven Curtis Chapman song, “Be Still and Know”.
Its quite a beautiful song really.
This song is what came to mind last night as I did exactly as those words said. At the beach, I lay on the sand, and in between good conversation, in the moments we were still,
I looked at the stars
I dug my feet into the sand
I listened to the waves
And I sat in awe as I watched some spectacular lightening off in the distant sky.
Someone asked me recently why I like the beach so much. I think this has definitely got to be one of the biggest reasons. A chance to be still in God’s creation and know the Creator. Be at peace. Really consider all He has done. And stand in awe.
I realise this can be done at any time any where. But in my opinion, not enough time is spent like this!
Where do you like to go to ‘be still and know’?

Beach & Bible, that's my perfect combination. There's the element of people that I'd also add in there, though you need self time too, ey.

Thats so true - need the right combination of those 3 really...
which seemed to work well last night - as among the main things mentioned in the post, also present was good conversation focused on living the Christian life, God and His word! Good times!
Thanks JT :)
This is based on one of my favourite verses in the Bible. Psalm 46:10. Just simple and true.
It seems there are a few songs based on this Psalm.
